Terms of Service
Last updated: May 12, 2026
1. Introduction
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of FindSkills, including the website at findskills.org, the npx findskills CLI, the MCP server, and the public API (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
2. Who We Are
FindSkills is an independent service operated by the FindSkills Team ("we", "us", or "FindSkills"). FindSkills currently operates as a sole proprietorship; the identity of the natural person operator will be disclosed upon a verified legal process or regulatory inquiry. Contact: mail@findskills.org.
We may assign these Terms and our rights and obligations to a successor entity (such as a company we form) at any time without your additional consent.
3. Eligibility
- You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you must be at least 16 years old.
- You must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.
Geographic Restriction. The Service is not offered to residents of mainland China (People's Republic of China). All data is stored and processed in the United States. By using the Service, you represent that you are not a resident of mainland China. Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan residents are not subject to this restriction. We do not perform technical geo-blocking; this is a legal representation by you. Access from mainland China violates these Terms and is at your own risk.
4. Description of Service
FindSkills is a directory of AI agent skills aggregated from public GitHub repositories and community submissions. Skills are community-sourced and not independently audited by us. See our Content Disclaimer.
5. Accounts
Authentication is via GitHub OAuth. You are responsible for the security of your GitHub account. You must not impersonate any person or entity.
6. User Submissions
When you submit a skill through /submit, you grant FindSkills a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, display, index, distribute, and create excerpts of your submission for the purpose of operating and promoting the Service.
You represent and warrant that you have the rights necessary to grant this license and that the submission does not infringe any third-party right. See our Acceptable Use Policy.
7. Intellectual Property
- The Service's source code, user interface, branding, and the aggregated data compilation are owned by FindSkills.
- Individual skill metadata and underlying code are owned by their respective authors under the licenses they publish.
- "FindSkills" and the FindSkills logo are our trademarks. You may not use them without permission except for factual reference.
8. API Usage
If you use the Service's public API or developer API keys, the Developer API Terms apply in addition to these Terms.
9. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to violate our Acceptable Use Policy, which includes (without limitation) no malware submissions, no rate-limit circumvention, no vote manipulation, and no automated account creation.
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY. See our Content Disclaimer.
FindSkills acts solely as a passive intermediary for user-submitted and publicly-aggregated content. We do not author, audit, or endorse third-party skills, and assume no liability for their content, behavior, or consequences. Authors of individual skills are solely responsible for their own projects (47 U.S.C. § 230, EU Digital Services Act Article 6, and equivalent safe-harbor provisions in other jurisdictions).
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability to you for any and all claims arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) USD $100, or (b) the amount you paid FindSkills in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. As the Service is currently free of charge, this typically equates to USD $0.
We will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, even if advised of the possibility. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law (for example, to consumers under mandatory provisions of EU/UK consumer law).
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless FindSkills, its operators, contractors, agents, and affiliates from any claim, liability, damage, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your submissions. FindSkills reserves the right, at your expense, to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter for which you are required to indemnify us, and you agree to cooperate with our defense. You may not settle any such claim without FindSkills' prior written consent.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice, particularly for breach of these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (e.g., IP ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification) will survive.
14. Changes to the Service and These Terms
We may modify the Service or these Terms. For material changes to these Terms, we will provide at least 30 days' notice via a banner on the site and, where available, email. Your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
15. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
All disputes shall first be subject to 30 days of good-faith negotiation via mail@findskills.org. If unresolved, all disputes (other than claims subject to mandatory consumer-protection laws of the user's country of residence) shall be exclusively resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by JAMS in Wilmington, Delaware, under the JAMS Streamlined Arbitration Rules.
Class actions, consolidated proceedings, representative actions, and jury trials are waived to the maximum extent permitted by law. If the class-action waiver is held unenforceable, the remainder of this arbitration provision shall remain in full effect.
Consumers in the EEA, UK, and other jurisdictions with mandatory consumer-protection laws retain the right to bring claims under those laws notwithstanding the foregoing.
16. Future Paid Services
Any future paid features (such as promoted submissions) will be governed by supplemental terms presented at the time of purchase. Fees for any such services are non-refundable unless required by law or stated otherwise at checkout.
17. Miscellaneous
- Severability: if any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
- Entire agreement: these Terms together with the Privacy Policy and other referenced policies constitute the entire agreement between you and FindSkills regarding the Service.
- No waiver: failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
- Notices: to FindSkills at mail@findskills.org; to you via any email or GitHub contact we have on file.
